40 Greatest Photos Ever

40 Greatest Photos Ever

What made me pick this picture is he feeling it gives to me knowing that some people would risk their lives for our country and that they would risk leaving their families without part of their family, i think its sad that the poor kid lost his dad. I really like the angle the picture was taken at and the way the light is shining on them.

I picked this picture because it makes me feel happy for the woman finally getting to see her family and the family finally getting to see her after a really long time of being separated, i like how it captures her emotion and feeling that she was gavin. I like the angle that it was taken at and the position that they were in while it was being taken.

I picked this picture because its not something that you see normally,How many people have actually went up to space and have seen the earth like this?
i like how you can still see the surface of the moon in the picture and how the earth is in a blank black background, i think it makes it look awesome and think its special.

Photo Manipulation and Ethics

Photo Manipulation and Ethics

the article that i read was talking about how you should use ethics while manipulating photos because if you don't there may be consequences. first of all you have to be doing it for the right purpose because if you do it so that something important looks different then it actually did look and that may brig the wrong type of attention, especially if its a big company. an example of unethical photo manipulation would be changing something in the picture so that  it looks like its something completely different and wrong, sort of like a lie. in doing so you may get fired from you're job as a photojournalist and maybe even get in trouble with the law.

i don't think its acceptable because it makes people believe something that didn't really happen and that can start some bad conflicts and like i said before it can get you fired from you're job and get in trouble with the law. so they are basically lying about the whole thing, even if it was a small shane, i can make a huge difference.

Good and bad photo manipulation

Bad

i think that this was the worst photo manipulation because they made and entirely fake picture and made people believe something that in fact did not happen, so they published and sold a lie.

Okay

i don't really think that this picture was so bad because they didn't really change anything that was bad, it was just her teeth that were changed and i don't really think that its really a bad thing.

Post Shoot Reflection

http://sabrinaphotojournalismblog.blogspot.com/2013/09/red-metal-happy.html

  1. I really like the angles you took the pictures at, like the first one for red, the angle is awesome
  2. I like the objects you took the pictures of, i think it was well thought and they look good.
  3. I think you should improve on making sure the pictures are well focussed, not really for all of the pictures mostly for the one of the lockers, that one was the only blurry picture

National Geographic

This is my favorite picture out of all of the pictures

The reason that its my favorite is because of the vivid color that it has and that the thing in the middle makes me feel like something magical is going to appear.

a photo that i can take to illustrate the surrounding would be a picture of down town austin.

Camera History

Camera History

  • The camera obscuration affect is an effect achieved by making a hole in a wall of a dark room, and the outside scene is projected on the dark wall, this was the first ever camera.
  • In the 17th century the modern camera was a step closer Thanks to Isaac Newton and Christian Huygens, the invention was the glass lense.
  • The first parts of the first modern camera was the film, and was inverted by Joseph Nicéphore Néipce.
  • Something that modern digital cameras and Néipce's camera have in comon is that they both have glass lenses.
  • digital cameras and the very first cameras still work in the same way except that digital cameras capture the photograph on a digital film instead of the older film strips used before.

Camera Modes

  • auto mode and program mode are different because in auto mode the camera will control the flash and the exposure for you. so it will basically do the things for you, and in program mode the camera has automatic-assist so it is easier to just "point and shoot" and you can control some things like the flash and some other settings.
  • portrait mode is normally used for taking portraits of people or things, and what it does is blur the background so that the thing being captured is more in focus and looks like the center of attention.
  • sports mode is used when things are moving fast and freezes motion so the image comes out clearer, it does so by using the fastest shutter possible.

Half Press

  • the half press is used to focus in on one thing and make sure the picture is going to come out clear.

Controlling Flash

  • the symbol means that flash is turned off, you usually use this when there is enough light for the picture to come out clear.
  • the symbol means that flash is set to automatic so it senses how much light there is and automatically turns on or off.

Intro to Exposure

  • if there is too much light the picture will be washed out.
  • if there is not enough light the picture will be dark.

The Universal Stop

  • a stop is a relative measurement of light
  • if there are two suns instead of one the planet would be +1 stops brighter.
  • if there are four suns the planet would be +2 stops brighter.

Shutter and Aperture

  • a longer shutter speed means that more light will be captured.
  • a shorter shutter speed means that there will be less light captured.
  • aperture controls light.
  • when adjusting apreture you can increase the amount of light by opening up the shutter.

First Photos-Best and Worst

these pictures were taken on the second day of the photojournalism class, this is Jessica Torres posing for the camera. As you can see Jessica looks very shy and nervous while Marissa was telling the class about her.

Best Photo

I think that this is the best photo I took that day because you can clearly see her face, the picture is well focussed on her, the lighting was great in this picture, And I  also really like the way that she looks at the camera in this picture, and the angle the picture was taken makes it looks awesome.

Worst photo

I think that this photo is the worst of all the other photos because the picture looks dark and depressing, because you can't really see her face that much, its not well focussed in on her, and also because she doesn't really stand out to me in this picture all that much.

Welcome to my blog!
